EU Co-Funded Projects

(I) Project "Setting up an Audiovisual Media Education Centre at Vilnius Jesuit High School"

On 5 June 2018, we submitted an application for EU investment funds under the measure administered by the Ministry of Education and Science for the modernisation of public and non-state school buildings and learning environments. Our project "Installation of an Audiovisual Media Education Centre in Vilnius Jesuit Gymnasium" was assessed positively and awarded funding.

On the 5th of November 2018, we signed the contract for the project, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, an EU structural fund. Under this contract, up to €263,904.60 of EU Structural Funds funding is available for the implementation of our project. The total amount of eligible project costs is €351,872.80. The Gymnasium is contributing almost EUR 88,000 to the project.

During the implementation of the project, our new Library basement has been equipped with a Sound Studio and a Video-Education Studio, equipped with the latest equipment and modern tools according to the latest possibilities of educational organization. A multifunctional environment that connects the studios and promotes learning has also been created - the Pupils' Self-Education Space, consisting of a cinema room, a gallery of pupils' work, meeting and co-working spaces. The project aims to realise our vision of creating a dynamic, open and functional school space in the basement of the Library, enriching the content of the education(s), encouraging innovation and creativity of the community.

(II) Project Library "Library of the Lithuanian Jesuit Province and the Vilnius Jesuit Gymnasium installation and opening for the public"

On the 9th of August 2018, we submitted an application to the CPVA under a measure administered by the Ministry of Culture for private cultural service providers. The total value of the project "Equipping and opening the library of the Lithuanian Jesuit Province and Vilnius Jesuit Gymnasium to the public" is 439 thousand EUR., of which the contribution of VJG is 101 thousand EUR. The essence of the project is to acquire all the equipment, furniture, and technology ( except for the construction works) necessary for the operation of the Library (1st and 2nd floor), in order to create a modern space for reading, research, and education that encourages creativity, and that is unrestricted, open, aesthetically pleasing and functional.

On the 1st of  February 2019, we signed a contract for a project co-financed by the EU Structural Funds - the European Regional Development Fund. Under this contract, up to €332,374.16 of EU Structural Funds funding is available for the implementation of our project. The total amount of eligible project costs is €439506.87. The Gymnasium is contributing €107,000 to the eligible costs of the project. The library of the Lithuanian Jesuit Province and the Vilnius Jesuit Gymnasium will become open to the public, the cultural activities carried out by the library will serve the purposes of public education, lifelong learning, will ensure synergy between the cultural and educational sectors, will promote self-expression of the library visitors, their interest in culture, art, science, and will foster media and information literacy. 

The project started on the 1st of February 2019 and will be completed by the 31st of March, 2022.
